Aleinu (Asti)

The Apam High Holidays Prayer Book, preserved only in manuscript, differs from the normative Ashkenazi rite in several piyyutim, as well as in the Seliḥot Service for Yom Kippur. This version of the 'Alenu prayer, a proclamation of God's kingdom over Israel, for the Musaf (Additional Service) of the second day of Rosh Hashanah in Asti bears the traces of an old layer of the nusaḥ (modal recitation) for this holiday.
