Tzipora Jochsberger

Israeli composer, musicologist and educator

Born in Leuterhausen, Germany. Immigrated to Israel in 1939, and studied in the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. Moved to the US in 1952, and received a PhD in Jewish Music from the Jewish Theological Seminary in 1972. Published several collections of Jewish music, and an instructional book for the recorder based on Israeli songs. Her compositions include many works with Jewish themes. Produced a video series about various Jewish musical traditions.
